When we are jumping, say in kevin's back yard, why is it that we dont go higher than we actually do, when our impulse would be much higher than what it is? We jump only a certain hight alone, but at the weight we are, we should be pushed even higher in my opinion.

Can you elaborate on why you think you should go higher? What factors play into the height of your jump? How could you analyze these factors using what you know about kinematics, dynamics, momentum, impulse, and conservation of energy?

could it be that the change in time for the impulse is made considerable longer by the deformation of the trampoline and then force that results in the upward direction is much less than it otherwise would have been?
