Have you ever wondered why a catchers glove is bigger than a regular glove? This is because when they catch the ball after a fast pitch the longer they can take to slow the ball down the less of a force their hand feels. This is shown in the equation, force=impulse/time. If they were to catch the ball with their bare hand the ball would come to a stop quicker than with the padding of the larger glove resulting in a lot of pain from the force.

When i play soccer i see physics a lot. There is the obvious projectile problem of when a ball is kicked or thrown but i also see it many other places. For example when a ball curves. This is caused by the spin on the ball creating high and low pressure around the ball causing it to curve. I also see physics when we play on different surfaces like either turf of grass. Two men, Tom and Bob were at a party and got into an argument. Tom said that Bob had stolen money from him. Both left in their cars still yelling at each other leaving the parking lot. While driving i think of physics. For example i often wonder what the coefficient of friction is for the brakes to slow down the car. I saw a video on yahoo news today where a cat falls 19-stories and survives and the reporter seems stunned.
