Design Goals: Our vehicle is designed to launch off of Planet Kerbin and achieve a steady orbit of a little over 70,000 meters over the surface of the planet.

Launch Goal: We are hoping to learn the requirements of making it out of the atmosphere and create a steady orbit so we may be able to escape Kerbin from there at later times. We expect to get the "Stable Manned Orbit," "Stable Orbit," "Manned Launch to 50 km," "Manned Launch to 10 km," and "Launch to 10 km," milestones.

Pilot Plan: The pilot will be flying to 100 m/s and start to tilt due East. The pilot will then work his/her way to a 45 degree ascent with respect to the ground around 15,000 m above the surface of Kerbin. From there, the pilot will burn until the apoapsis reaches 70,000 m above Kerbin and will cut the burn. When the pilot is close to apoapsis, he/she will burn at the prograde until the orbit is around the entire planet and the periapsis is a little above 70,000 m. They will then reach the final stage of the rocket and return to Kerbin by burning at retrograde around the time the pilot reaches the periapsis, and will parachute to the ground!

Design Goals: Our goal was to place a working satellite into geosynchronous orbit which is archived when the space craft is at an altitude of 2,863.33 km above Kerbin while the craft is flying at 1,009.81 m/s. Like the original space race, our country has a lot to loose but everything to gain, even if that means putting a small beeping bit of metal into space just to intimidate rival countries and agencies... I mean just look at what Sputnik did. To achieve this we needed a large amount of liquid thrust to reach the atmosphere, we wanted multiple stages to allow us to deploy the satellite, and the satellite needed the required equipment to charge and broadcast signals of the Glorious Rocketslovia to our side of the planet.

Pilot Plan: We plan to launch vertical until 20km where we will begin angling west at 5 degrees and adjust as necessary. We will then reach 100 km, where we shall coast to our first apoapsis. We will then adjust our orbit to reach out to our desired radius from the earth (2,863 km). We will have a burn and then drift to said apoapsis, where we will then make the required adjustments to our speed and flight path to expand it into a more controlled orbit with a constant radius and speed. At this point we can decouple the satellite and we will have mission success. This is the plan at least. The good news is it is looking like a great day for a launch here on the launchpad, with our launch planned for 10:46 AM.

Play-by-Play: At the beginning Bill Kerman boarded the rocket Launch Meat and and was strapped in. Then once the weather cleared, the boosters ignited along side the rockets main engine and Bill oriented the rocket towards the east. The boosters were dropped when they ran out of fuel. As the rocket traveled, it neared an apopsis of 80,000 km Bill Kerman turned off the throttle and began to coast towards the altitude of 80,000. Upon reaching the apopsis, Bill turned the engine back on full throttle to burn the last of the fuel in the first stage. Then the first stage detached and fell back towards Kerbin, and Bill fired up the second stage to reach orbit.

Summary: In this launch team F'N Sandwich and pilot Bill Kerman achieved a stable orbit. After many failed tests, this goal was reached as our greatest milestone so far. Going forwards, we have learned that a greater heat shield will be required as the one used during this launch was damaged.

Opportunities / Learnings: We learned that practice makes perfect and how to maneuver the rocket in the ways and orientation that we want. It gives us the confidence to move towards a moon landing or satellite launch.

Strategies / Project Timeline: This launch will set in motion missions of greater complexity. We aim to either put a satellite in orbit around Kerbin or put a Kerbin on the moon.

Milestone Awards Presented: We achieved a stable orbit and a stable manned orbit, and a launch to 50 KM for $20,000 $25,000 and $10,000 respectively.

Available Funds: We have $68,508 remaining prior to the possible $60,000 in rewards for our achievements.

Design Goals: This rocket was designed to send a Kerbal into orbit around Kerbin. Two booster engines helped to gain speed and our swivel engine helped us maneuver the rocket to the east to reach orbit.

Launch Goal: We are hoping to put a Kerbal into a stable orbit around the planet Kerbin. If we succeed we will earn the achievements of an successful manned launch to 50 km, a stable orbit and a stable manned orbit. Is successful, our group will earn $60,000 from these milestones.

Pilot Plan: First Bob Kerman will ignite the booster engines and the swivel engince to gain speed. He will then angle the rocket towards the east to position the rocket in the correct orientation to leave Kerbin. He will then wait apoapsis to reach 80 km and then shut off the engines. Upon nearing an altitude of 80 km, Bob will re ignite the engines to push the rocket into orbit.

Play-by-Play: The swivel engine was engaged and the Jebediah Kerman for the first time in his career lifted of the surface of the planet Kerbin. The first stage burned, propelling the capsule to around 7000 meters. The first stage was then was dropped and the capsule used its momentum to reach a final height of just over 10 km. As the rocket then fell back towards home, the parachute was released to slow Jebediah down and return him alive and safe back to Kerbin.

Summary: this mission over saw a successful launch of Jebediah Kerbin to an altitude of 10 km. He was returned safely and said that he enjoyed his time, and that he was Erika Nash in a costume. The mission earned our group $15000 for an initial investment of around $5000. For our next launch we plan to use this achievement to drive the design and launch of more complex rockets and missions. As to the next launch we must be more attentive as towards the timing of stage releases as well.

Opportunities / Learnings: We learned the proper timing for releasing the parachute so that it doesn't break or release to late, risking the lives of innocent Kerbals.

Play-by-Play: Initially the rocket was created using the parts listed in the pre-flight briefing. The rocket was launched from Kerbin and angled in order to successfully travel outside of Kerbin's atmosphere. The rocket was then directed into orbit around Kerbin. Kerbin was orbited a few times. The rocket was then returned back to Kerbin by using a maneuver that brought the rocket back into Kerbin's atmosphere. The bottom engines were released, then the second engines, leaving only the pod left. The pod descended to 1,000 meters above Kerbin and then the parachute was deployed. The pod landed safely on Kerbin.
Memorial: Valentina was a brave kerbal, who wanted nothing more than to go where no other kerbal has gone before. Even in her final moments, the in-flight cameras caught her with a giant grin on her face, knowing that her death would be the base for even greater space operations. While she will be missed, we at Muraleo Inc refuse to let her death put an end to the dreams which Valentina stood for, and will continue to send fearless kerbals where dreams of greatness come true.

Flight Summary: The majority of the flight went off without a hitch. Our biggest concerns stem from reentry into the atmosphere, and ensuring that we have enough fuel to counteract gravity as we decrease altitude. In addition, it may be beneficial to keep the flight in low orbit, so as to reduce the change in velocity during reentry.

Future Strategy: For our next flight, we will be adding more parachutes with a greater speed tolerance, as well as several radially mounted solid fuel thrusters in order to slow down the flight on reentry, assuming it is falling too quickly when the liquid fuel runs out. Our hope is that this will keep our pilot intact long enough for us to treat any injuries accrued over the flight.

Summary: Launch and height gain were successful and went without a hitch. Once at a suitable height, we chose 80km, stage 2 was used along with stage 3 to achieve orbit. This orbit was at the same altitude, with a 4km deviation from 80km altitude (82-78). Once over land, the 3rd stage was used to exit orbit back into the atmosphere, where a use of some thrust allowed the ship not to burn up in the atmosphere. Once stage 3 was out of fuel, it was jettisoned and just the pod with it's emergency thrusters and parachutes remained. The pod continued to fall for a while before the first set of "slow down" thrusters were activated, slowing the pod down to a speed where drouge chutes could be used. These slowed the pod down to 25 m/s until very close to the ground, where the main parachute was deployed. The chute was deployed a bit late and wasn't going to open before impact, so the final set of emergency thrusters were used to slow the crash landing. This was successful, and the pod survived the landing, with Bill (somehow) unharmed.

Learnings: The emergency thrusters were absolutely a good idea, and used alongside drogue chutes, they can make the absolute safest method of landing a ship after a fast re-entry.

Project Timeline: Our next project will likely be to get a small satellite into a stable orbit, as that won't be too difficult and let us learn a bit more about the different parts of the game.

	Time of Flight: 23 Minutes

Summary: In our first launch we hoped to reach our first goal, a height of 50km, and were successful in this part of our plan. We reached a maximum height of 120,000km but upon reentry burned out our parachute and were unable to land safely, killing a Kerbal. In our next launch we will alter our flight path by easing into a smaller angle at a slower rate. additionally we will remodel our rocket to have more stability.

Opportunities/Learnings: Angles matter significantly, need thrusters to counteract acceleration back into atmosphere

Strategies/ Project Timeline: Financial Loss, a learning experience, will put more effort and research into next launch

	Milestone Awards Presented: None

Summary: Our main goal was to achieve manned flight at an altitude above 10 km. Although it was not pretty, we got there and got our Kerbal home safe. Our flight path was not ideal and a big safety concern moving forward will be the stability of our craft and the experience needed by our team members to correctly respond to similar situations.

Opportunities / Learnings: Stability is key, and manual controls are not reliable. You need to know what the rocket is going to do before it launches and how you should react to every possible situation.

Strategies / Project Timeline: We definitely need to redesign our rocket to achieve the next milestone. In the near future, we will be conducting many test missions to try out new designs and staging in order to find a sound rocket that can take us to the next milestone.

	Initial funds: $100,000

	Vehicle name: The Traveller

	Parts List: 1 Mk. 1 Command Pod $600, 1 FL-T200 Fuel tank $275, 4 FL-T800 Fuel tank $800, 6 TR-18A Stack Decoupler $400, 6 RV-105 RCS Thruster Block $620, 1 Mk.16 parachute $422, 7 RT-10 "Hammer" Booster $400, 6 EAS-4 Strut Connector $42, 1 LV-909 "Terrier" Liquid Fuel Engine $390, 3 LV-T45 "Swivel" Liquid Fuel Engine $1200, 1 LV-T30 Liquid Fuel Engine $1100, 6 Aerodynamic Nose Cones $240, 3 AV-R8 Winglet $640, 3 LT-05 Micro Landing Strut $200, 3 TT-18A Launch Stability Enhancer $200, 1 Advanced Inline Stabilizer $1200, 3 TT-38K Radial Decoupler $600

Design Goals: This design was made purely for getting into a stable orbit, and getting the manned command pod back to Kerbin safely. We used a 3 stage thrust system, with solid fuel boosters for the initial takeoff, then liquid fuel after that to allow us to control flight.'

Launch Goals: For this launch we hope to accomplish a stable manned orbit above 50km and EVA, completing all 6 Kerbin Milestones.

Pilot Plan: The plan is to get to a relatively vertical height of 50km, then angle at around 15 degrees above the horizon and thrust to gain some height while mainly building speed for orbit. This orbital maneuver will be done on the second stage of the rocket, with the 4 liquid fuel boosters.
