If you have ever gone laser-tagging, then you will know that the space in which you are in has many mirrors. Why? well light can reflected off of surfaces that are flat and smooth very well. This is an example of specular reflection. However not everything reflects even if a large amount of light is concentrated upon it. Why? well it is simply that some surfaces are too rough to reflect light and so you cannot use everything around you to get your opponents.

When my brother and I are playing with Legos, we build towers and cars for the good guys and the bad guys. When the bad guys are fighting, they always seem to be the ones blowing up! Their is physics when my little brother smashes my wall with his fist because he is applying force to the legos so that they move. However, if he punchs the legos vertically than he is going be applying force to the ground as well which is much more stable so punching it this way will hurt! This is because when you apply force to something, that same force is applied to you!

Additionally when we are cleaning up and we are throwing the legos back into his box it crashes and makes lots of great crunchy sounds! I hypothesize that the sound will change based upon how hard something is thrown because the contact between the objects happens at a higher rate when thrown faster so it emits a louder sound!

If you are going ice-skating, you are simulating what it is like to live without friction, at least some of the time. Ice-skating is fun because most who do it know how to stop or at least control themselves so they don't run into anyone! Many people do not like to ice-skate because they are afraid that they will fall. This is because when you fall you are falling onto a surface which is very dense and will not be easily pushed and take some of the impact.

When I ice-skate with my family on our pond at Hamlin the ice is irregular unless my dad clears the snow everytime it snows. When ice is irregular it can cause your iceskates to move slower and for your ice-skate to get caught. If your feet get caught you accelerates the forward force gets transferred into downward force because the top half of your body is still moving with the same amount of force though your lower body has been stopped.

Singing is a great activity to do because it you add another layer to any music you are doing, but how does it happen? Well in order to make a sound you have to vibrate the air with your vocal chords. These adjust and create different frequencys which create different levels of pitch. Pitch is a self organized concept that we create based upon the patterns we notice from a very young age. This is why in the United States most people at a sporting event will chant in a 4/4 or 3/4 whereas other countries like turkey might chant in 9/8. Taking this idea music is only music because it makes some kind of logical sense therefore if want to get better at singing find a method

    Whoa!

In running, you have to overcome the force of gravity and friction while staying balanced. If you get tired and apply less force you will slow down with each step because every step is alters how fast you are traveling while in the air. This is why running downhill is easier, the ground is naturally slanted downwards so you don't have to use as much energy to push up. On the other-hand, a uphill run requires much more energy because in order to travel the same amount of horizontal distance their is a larger vertical distance to overcome.

If it is a sunny day, your shoes will mostly have static friction while running. However on a rainy day, your shoes will be covered in mud and will grip the ground less efficiently. You will probably slip and experience kinetic friction unless you wear very good spikes and watch where you run!

Loop Pedals allow you to record yourself for vocals, guitar, synth and any medium possible. For some devices their is a direct line to the pedal such as guitars where the microphone is already within the guitar but sometimes it is external for vocalists or trombone players. Ether way, what always happens is that it records the frequencys emitted and then will loop it. While you cannot change pitch on pedals you can turn up the amplitude of the sound. Loop pedals are helpful for bands that are small so that they can keep their versatility for songwriting but still have enough harmonic density. However they have to be used tastefully!

When your recording somebody/ yourself their are several factors to consider. The first is the size of the room. The recording will sound different whether your in a church, auditorium, or recording studio. A church would be a good venue for an Americana group because their kind of sound is aided by the reverb, however, if a metal band was to play in a church they would have to be careful just because their amplitude might be too much for the area. If their is a lot of sound reflection in an area the recording will be more muddled. That's why to ensure control most people record at a recording studio space with foam to absorb and diffuse the sound waves.

Swimming is a fun thing to do when the weather gets warmer and is a really great workout. The way swimming works is that you apply a force with your arms and feet backward and then you go forward. The reason this works is Newtons 3rd law of motion which states for every action their is a equal and opposite reaction. This is why if you were to go swimming on the ground you wouldn't go anywhere! in order for you to go forward their must be something to push against.

Guitars are pretty cool, and you can do a lot with them! If you decide to play a guitar then the strings will vibrate through the bridge be amplified by the body. You could also throw a guitar if you wanted to! When you throw the guitar up in the air, the force you exert upon the guitar is exerted upon yourself so make sure its not too heavy! when you throw the guitar it will travel in a parabolic arch and have an acceleration of 9.81 downwards effecting the guitar. This is why the guitar will be destroyed if thrown, the net force is much stronger than the normal force a guitar usually withstands. Additionally the guitar will have the force applied to only a small part of the guitar upon its collision with the earth. In conclusion, please don't throw guitars!

Today when i was driving into the city it was raining. Rain makes it hard to see and when you slow down rain coats the tire, making it smoother and making breaks slightly less effective. I was in a rush so I drove Slightly faster i usually did. because i was driving faster i had to use more gas because the car needed more energy to increase its net force. I was driving a little sedan and because of its shape, air resistance effected the car less so i didnt have to use as much gas. I did not have to the physics of my seatbelt thankfully, seatbelts restrain most of your body so it barely moves and an airbag should deploy so that your neck has a force counteracting the sudden acceleration of the car.
