  1. I love the science and that is what I am researching to add to my classes. However the use of hula hoops will will prove the flaw in your theory of sabotage. It is actually easier to use a larger heavier hoop on body because it moves slower and gives better awareness of when you need to add force to keep it moving. That being the case it offers a better allowance for making mistakes but requires a larger slower movement. Smaller lighter hoops require a quicker smaller movement and more body awareness. You can have a hoop that is too big. However most people (adults and children) who are not experienced with hooping find my mega hoop measuring in at 5 feet in diameter and weighing apr 1.5 lbs easiest to use versus the dollar store hoops that are 2 feet in diameter and weight less than 0.25 lbs. The best hoop for a beginner should come to their chest and weigh between 0.75 to 1 lb. Using a heavy hoop (over 3 lbs) can cause back problem by pulling your spine out of alignment and cause bruising. So if you truly want to win that contest and do it quickly, pick a hoop that comes to your chest that weighs around 1 lb and give your friends a hoop from the dollar store. By the way, I am a certified Hoopnotica hula hoop instructor and have been hooping for over 5 years. If you want to experiment with different sizes of hula hoops you can make your own out of irrigation tubing. instruction link- https://www.facebook.com/notes/hoop-love-ofallon-st-peters-mo/how-to-make-a-hula-hoop/1445996525661814
