    cell phones

We use cell phones everyday. We look at our phones constantly. Iphone users look at their phones 3x more than normal phone users. The cell phone uses circuits to power it. It uses waves from cell towers so we're able to call and send messages and stuff. The screen gives off light waves which is what we see when we look at our screens. We take advantage of technology. We use things without thinking. We learn how to do things fast, but we don't really know how it all works,

    Physics of Music

Music is great. It's the thing that everyone likes whether they're into making it or just listening to it. Everyone at one point or another likes music to some extent. Music is a rather general term because there is so much to music. There is composing, performing, audience, and so much more. There is so much physics in music, especially in the performing part with all the different instruments. The guitar for example, uses strings and whatever material is used to make the body, usually wood, to make the actual instrument. Than the strings are attached, aligned, and tuned to that when you press down on the strings on the different frets you change the wave lengths of the standing waves and create different notes. This goes for all string instruments. Other instruments such as trumpets and what not use valves instead of strings to change the wavelengths of the standing waves. How hard you strum a guitar or blow in a trumpet changes the amplitude which is how loud it is. Musical instruments use a lot of waves and magnetism depending on which ones they are. Guitars (acoustic) use waves which reflect off of different surfaces so we can perceive it. Electric guitars get plugged into guitar amplifiers which are composed of amplifiers, and speakers which are made with magnets and coils.

As a test we are looking to evaluate how fast people reallydrive down cooper. We are doing this as a part of a police safety project. Thisproject looks to see how fast people go because generally people speed downcooper. We collected data to show the actual speeds of cars going down the roadwithout the use of a radar gun. Through the use of basic math we are able todetermine who is speeding. Step one: Gatherthe materials that you will need. You will need a tape measure two stop watchesand pencils and paper. Step two:create a table where you will record distance, time, color and make of the car. Step three:go out onto the street and find two different points that you can use tomeasure the speed. The two points should generally be more than 20 metersbecause the further away the better the calculations. We picked two telephone poleswhich were around 40 meters away from each other. Make sure you measure thedistance between whatever you are using. Step four:record the times of ten different cars that pass in between the two poles.Start the clock when the front of the car reaches the first pole and end theclock when the rear of the car reaches the second pole. Step five:record the times on the table as well as the color and model of the car Step six:calculate the speed by finding how many meters per second and then convertingit to kilometers per hour.
  4. My interests, i'm interested in many things, things like video-games, and most importantly music. I use to play lots and lots of video-games but that has changed throughout the years. I still play video-games but not as much as i use to. Now music on the other hand takes up a majority of my life. Most of the day i'm either listening to music or playing music. Every night before i go to sleep i make sure to play the guitar so i can maintain all my chops and not forget any of them. In conclusion, i have many interests and music being one of the most important ones. I'm taking physics because I personally like science because like music it never ends, it's always expanding into so much more. I'm also taking Physics because Mr. Schleishing gives out great advice and told me that i should take it. I hope to learn all about nuclear physics and all about everything that confuses the average person. In conclusion, i want to learn about complicating and things that challenge the mind.
