  1. That's interesting. I feel like majors are getting more and more specific. For example, renewable energy engineering blends together elec., mechanical, and other forms of engineering with a focus on solar, wind, and like power sources. Specific majors are neat because they're specialized to a particular focus area, directly preparing the student for a future career set. Great find, Goalkeeper! :)

  2. I forget where exactly I saw this, but I heard that some engineers created a solution to road pot-holes with a non-newtonian fluid such as this. They put the fluid in bags, and put a bag or two inside a pot-hole. Without pressure, the fluid in the bags formed to the shape of the pot-hole. Then, when cars drove over the patch, the substance hardened. I thought this was pretty cool.

Oh, I heard about that when visiting Case Western a little bit ago! A group of students thought that one up. The link below gives more info. Not bad for Undergrads ;)

  3. "A careful reading of official Major League Baseball Rule 6.08(

    B) suggests that in this situation, the batter would be considered 'hit by pitch', and would be eligible to advance to first base."

Lol, I suppose that rule is the only thing keeping you from pitching that fast, right Lshads? Nice post :D
