Physic Speeding Lab Danielle, Katie, Tori,Victoria

Introduction paragraph:

In thislab, the problem we were trying to solve is seeing if drivers are travelingover the speed limit on Cooper Road in front of the high school. This area hasa 35 mph speed limit. Our team has been asked to gather data about the carstraveling down Cooper Rd.

Step-by-step procedure:

1. We came up with a plan to have two distancepoints in order to get a variety of data. We took a measuring tape and two stopwatches outside and found a place along the road to mark specific distances tocollect the data.

2. We marked a start point which would be 0 feetthan pulled the measuring tape to 40 feet and had someone stand on that pointthan continued pulling the tape to 80 feet and had an individual stand at 80feet as well.

3. We had two people at each of the two points;collect the time and description of the 10 cars that passed our points.

4. Each car passed through our marked area and wewould have someone say start and the timer would be clicked when the fronttires hit the start line and then it would be stopped when the back tires hit atyour specific stopping point.

5. We did this for 10 cars (non- consecutively) andcollected the data.

6. After we were done conducting the lab we compareour tables and shared the information we gathered to one another.
