Here is my answer to the Veritasium problem. In that problem, a bullet hits a block and the bullet plus block rise up. Next, the same bullet is shot into the same block, but not in the middle. In this second case, the block will spin AND rise. Which goes higher?
The answer is that they go the same height. But where does the rotational energy come from? My answer (in short) is that it comes from a reduced change in internal energy.
