Tipler Ch. 25.1-25.6<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HW: WA-APC-Circuits 3\/18<\/li>\n<li>HW: Capacitor SimuLab 3\/26<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>PURPOSE<\/h2>\n<p>  <\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Using the capacitor simulation at <a href=\"http:\/\/phet.colorado.edu\/en\/simulation\/capacitor-lab\">http:\/\/phet.colorado.edu\/en\/simulation\/capacitor-lab<\/a> and the     <br \/>AC\/DC circuit construction kit at <a href=\"http:\/\/phet.colorado.edu\/en\/simulation\/circuit-construction-kitac\">http:\/\/phet.colorado.edu\/en\/simulation\/circuit-construction-kitac<\/a>,    <br \/>you and your team are to create a simulation lab for future AP-C Physics Students.&#160; This lab     <br \/>should include a purpose, detailed step-by-step procedure, data tables, and appropriate     <br \/>analysis questions to help students develop an understanding of the key learning objectives for     <br \/>this activity.    <\/p>\n<h2>KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES<\/h2>\n<p>  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe qualitatively and quantitatively the patterns and variation of the electric \ufb01eld      <br \/>between oppositely-charged parallel plates.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the relationship between capacitance, stored charge, voltage, stored energy,      <br \/>area, separation distance, and dielectric constant for a parallel plate capacitor.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate the equivalent capacitance of a series or parallel combination of capacitors.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the ratio of voltages for capacitors connected in series.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate the voltage or stored charge, under steady-state conditions, for a capacitor      <br \/>connected to a circuit consisting of a battery and resistors.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch or identify graphs of stored charge or voltage for the capacitor, or of current or      <br \/>voltage for the resistor, and indicate on the graph the signi\ufb01cance of the time constant.<\/li>\n<li>Write expressions to describe the time dependence of the stored charge or voltage for      <br \/>the capacitor, or of the current or voltage for the resistor.      <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>DELIVERABLES<\/h2>\n<p>  <\/p>\n<p>1. One completed lab handout, neatly typed and organized in such a fashion that it could    <br \/>be immediately handed out to other AP-C physics students for in-classroom use without     <br \/>further modi\ufb01cation.&#160; Do not place your names on this copy, but instead attach your     <br \/>names to it using a yellow sticky note.     <br \/>2. A second copy of the lab handout, this copy having been \ufb01lled out completely as if you     <br \/>were a student working through the lab, and at such a quality level that it can be used as     <br \/>an answer key.&#160; It is to be labeled as \u201cTeacher\u2019s Guide.\u201d    <br \/>3.
