Welcome to IHS AP Physics 1!
Course Description
AP Physics 1 is an introductory course in high school physics designed to prepare students for the College Board's AP Physics 1 Exam. Students should be familiar with basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in preparation for this course. Students will be required to take a mid-term and comprehensive final exam. This course can be taken as a junior as a first physics course, or as a senior following a year of Regents Physics.

Course Materials
Each day students will need the following materials:
- Notebook
- Something to write with (blue/black pen or pencil)
- Scientific calculator
Course textbook, Physics: Principles with Applications by Douglas Giancoli Glencoe Science, is available for sign-out from the school library. Students will make extensive use of the WebAssign online homework system. Student accounts will be provided during the first days of school.
