Uh-Oh.

This past March, scientists watched a Black Hole devour a star. It's roughly ten times the diameter of our Sun, but has about 8 million times the Sun's mass. NASA scientists recently made a great animation of what they saw for us mere mortals that have no idea what the people staring through the telescopes are talking about. As for the unfortunate star, when it entered the black hole the energy in the star swirled around the black hole, forming a disc of light at millions of degrees and spinn

Conservation of Momentum and Dick Butkus.

This is NFL Hall of Famer Dick Butkus, the greatest linebacker of all time. He played for the Chicago Bears from 1965 to 1973, during which time he had 1,020 tackles, 22 interceptions, and 27 fumble recoveries, and is renowned for his punishing tackles and speed. In this picture, he is bringing down most of the Green Bay offense (which entire teams seem to be unable to do today as Rodgers and the Packers advance to 10-0.) Physics Brain-Rush

So it's Sunday at about 11:30. Had a good weekend of doing very little. And I'm sitting on my bed playing with music on Finale when suddenly a car speeds down my street. Naturally, I stop whatever I'm doing, look up, and shamelessly shout "Doppler Effect!" rather loudly and embarrassingly. Dear Physics, It's Sunday. Can't you leave my brain alone for one day? Love, Your slave.

More physics!

I have to say it was a bit of a relief to go back to 1-D Motion for this week. Cross products (and sometimes dot products) were starting to make me :banghead). Thankfully, like Mr. Fullerton said, we don't have to understand them, just calculate them. The new notation is a little bizarre but I think I'm getting used to it. I am curious; does anybody know what we're studying next?

Physics C!

Hello, everybody! I'm goNavy51! I play football, baseball,, piano, and ukulele; I sing, I love music, and I'm happy to be a senior but with a crazy course schedule. So basically, music is my life, football does its best to take over my life, and Physics C and BC Calculus are soon to be successful in taking over my life. I discovered that I loved physics after surviving the most challenging course I'd taken up to this point, AP Physics B, and I now find physics all around me, and I can't wait to
