AP Physics 1/2

Hello! I'm using the "AP Physics Essentials: 1" book to study for my Work, Power, and Energy exam (chapter 5.) I need clarification on question 5.10; how do we decide on the equation to use? I'm so lost on how to make that determination. Thanks!

Having finished up the rough draft of AP Physics 1 Essentials, I thought perhaps the table of contents with the covered topics might provide a better starting point than the preliminary outline I showed from last spring. Note that any topics not specifically covered by AP-1 I highlighted by placing an asterisk by them (but I included them in the book feeling they were important to maintaining continuity assuming your students may want to AP-2 the following year).
